Urban Ministries’ Twelfth Annual Tour D’ Coop Promoting Locally-Grown Poverty Awareness

RALEIGH, NC – March 31, 2016: Scramble on down for Urban Ministries of Wake County’s twelfth annual Tour D’ Coop on Saturday, June 4 from 10am to 4pm.

Tour D’ Coop is a family-friendly tour spotlighting urban chicken coops, bee hives, and gardens throughout Raleigh and Cary. The event showcases the nutritional benefits of local agriculture, promotes environmental sustainability, and teaches humane animal care–all while providing a hand up to those in need. Proceeds support Urban Ministries of Wake County’s programs to alleviate and eliminate poverty by addressing hunger, healthcare, and homelessness within the community.

The Tour features a self-guided map of backyard coops, an eco-friendly bike route through downtown Raleigh, a coop raffle, and super sites hosting local food trucks and activities for children.

Tour D’ Coop Tickets can be ordered in advance online or in-person the day of the event from Wake County Whole Foods’ locations and Seaboard Ace Hardware. Recommended admission is a $10 donation per individual or a $20 donation per carload, benefiting Urban Ministries of Wake County. Sponsorship opportunities are available starting at $250.
